Instructions
Prepping/Cuttings
Prepare Root Riot Cubes: Use peat-based rooting cubes straight from the bag. If they are too dry, soak them in a bucket with pH-adjusted water. Add approximately 0.25 ml of SuperThrive and 0.5 ml of Silica from General Hydroponics per gallon of water.
Take Cuttings: Use sterilized shears to take healthy cuttings from the mother plant. Immediately dip the cuttings in pH water with a few drops of SuperThrive and Silica.
Trim and Prep Cuttings: Make a 90-degree angle cut on the stems and lightly scrape the bottom of the stems. Dip the cuttings in CloneX rooting gel and insert them into the cubes. Ensure the cubes are damp, not soaked, and that the cuttings fit tightly.
Reapply CloneX Gel: Repeat the dipping process to ensure enough gel is inside the cube and on the stem. Place the prepared cuttings in a tray.
Incubation Period
Humidity Dome: Cover the tray with a humidity dome for the next 10 days. Keep the dome completely sealed for the first 3 days to maintain near 99% humidity. Add a small amount of water to the tray to help achieve this.
Daily Maintenance: Check the clones several times a day, briefly uncovering the dome to circulate air and foliar spray the leaves with pH water, SuperThrive, and Silica. Only spray the leaves; if the cubes appear dry, you can lightly mist them. Use a heat mat to maintain temperatures around 70-80°F for optimal results.
Acclimating/Hardening
Opening Vents: After the first 3 days, begin to open the vents on the dome gradually over the next 2-3 days until they are fully open. Continue foliar spraying the leaves during this period, but use good judgment to avoid over-moistening.
Drying Process: Allow the clones to dry slowly, promoting root development.
Rooting
Increasing Exposure: After 6-7 days, uncover the dome for 5 minutes several times a day, gradually increasing to 10 minutes the next day and then 15 minutes. Continue this process until you see roots, typically around the 10th day.
Wilting Clones: If any clones start to wilt, place them back under the dome for an additional day or two before re-potting them. Once rooted, treat them as small vegetative plants.
